young basadzi - still to be titled...

i hear you blink from afar
i choke on your tears
every time you cry
i sniff your anger in the
denseness of the air
and i interprete your cheer
right in my nerves.

you spit your words in the air
and they complete my sentences
i read your thoughts in the
night's skies
i feel your smiles in my lips
i hear your laughters in my voice
i even sneak into your solitude...

i toss my confusions high up
in the air, hoping to find answers
only to find your face
staring right back at me

i look for peace in my heart
above the quiet waters of the seas
and in the cool morning breeze
only to find it your eyes...

you spit your words in the air
and they complete my sentences
i read your thoughts in the
night's skies
i feel your smiles in my lips
i hear your laughters in my voice
i even sneak into your solitude...

young basadzi - blind spot

a beautiful morning,
confused emotions, frowned faces...
swollen eyes, freedom within,
dark clouds in the sky...
green tree-life, young and tender,
supple and juicy, tuna sandwich...
yellow taxi - warm and cozy -
yawn and stretch - piercing voices....
love so sweet, red-appled -
dreams of thick locked hair...
empty shell, smooth pebbled sands,
blue-grey seas...
through my brown eyes,
dilated dark pupils -
do u see what i see?

young basadzi - inspirations

Earthling

Take me through the waves of life
Teaching me what you have learnt
As you learn what I teach
And we will both expand into the fullness of this friendship
Sharing the comfort of companionship

Play me a song with sweet notes of honesty
So we can dance under the sun in pure majesty
Letting the pains of our past escape naturally
As we bare our truth explicitly

Because it is in your comfort that I find goodness
And in my goodness, that you find comfort

So arouse my curiosity with layers of your personality
And I will melt your attention with my poetic confessions
Giving birth to earthling – our new friendship

It’s an invitation to a life-filled companionship/ a life-giving, life-enhancing friendship. It was inspired by someone who has since become my most essential friend … I hope it will inspire many more soul-friendships…
